Stunning old Victorian locket holding a diamond to the front and garnet to the back. There’s a real air of romance to this piece with those swirled panels, half of which have been delicately engraved.
The stones are small but have been bezel set so that they don’t get lost in the centre of the locket.
The inside holds the original glass panel which can be removed to hold whatever you’d like to hold inside; dried flowers, a photo, a lock of hair, some herbs and spices? Whatever floats your boat.
Material - 9ct gold unmarked but tested, old cut diamond, garnet
Hallmarks - none
Country of origin - England
Drop inc jump ring - 2.5cm
Width - 2cm
Weight - 4.25g
Condition - There is wear to the piece in line with age, it has been well worn and well loved. Some areas of the engraved panels have perforated over time and there are a couple of dings to the plain panels on the garnet side. Please take this into consideration before you buy, it’s over 100 years old and in my opinion, will last another 100 years.
